It has been great for the kids to learn about their heritages. One of the projects that we are doing involves using a program called Culturegrams which helps children learn about the geography and customs of different countries. Each child picked one of the countries from which their ancestors came to learn about. There is a way to access Culturegrams from home. I'll send the password to you via e-mail once I get it.
We are also using a program called Voicethreads. Below the posts there is an example of a Voicethread that the kids did. In this Voicethread, kids were asked to comment on a photograph of immigrants at Ellis Island.
Thank you to those of you who have sent in special foods that reflect your heritage. I'd love to have other people who wanted to send something in do so before vacation. Contact me about what day works for you.
Welcome to Our Blog!
This will be your source for important information and a way for you to see what your children have been learning and doing during the school year.
